What Is Team Kata?

Team Kata is a synchronized form competition where two or more karate athletes perform a kata together — perfectly matched in:

  • Timing

  • Rhythm

  • Technique

  • Stance depth

  • Power

  • Kiai

  • Facial focus

It’s precision + unity + presentation.

Unlike individual kata, judges are evaluating:

  • Technical accuracy

  • Synchronization

  • Athleticism

  • Expression of martial spirit

  • Overall team cohesion
