This Privacy Policy explains how Kumite Classic Entertainment Corp. (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information through our website, kumiteclassic.com (the “Site”), and our mobile app, Kaizen 864 (the “App”). By using the Site or the App you agree to this policy.

Information we collect on the Site

What you send us: your name, email, phone number and message when you use a contact, registration or newsletter form.
Event registrations and payments: payments are processed by PayPal or Stripe. We receive your name, email and the details of your registration, not your full card number.
Technical information: like most websites, our server and security tools record your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the Site secure and working.
Comments and spam protection: comments and form entries may be checked by the Akismet spam-filtering service.
Cookies: the Site uses cookies needed for it to work (for example, to remember a form or a login). Embedded content such as YouTube videos or Instagram posts may set their own cookies under those companies’ policies.

Information we collect in the App

Your account: email address, a password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form), display name, and your age or date of birth so we can apply the right protections for younger members.
Parent or guardian email: for members under 13, the email of the parent or guardian who approves the account.
Your training and progress: the routines you build and complete, time trained, streaks, belts, badges, quiz results, goals, mood check-ins, journal entries and any other entries you choose to log, such as weight. This is saved to your account so it is not lost if you change phones.
Photos: photos you add to your training history stay on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Your avatar and profile picture: a small version is stored with your account so it can show beside your name in rankings.
Short videos you choose to post: if you post a short video, it is uploaded to our server. Every video is reviewed by a coach before anyone else can see it, and only signed-in members of the App can view approved videos. Members under 13 cannot post videos.
Your dojo: if you join or create a dojo with a dojo code, we store which dojo you belong to.
Technical information: basic information needed to run the service, such as your IP address and the time of requests, used for security and to prevent abuse.

The App does not use your location, does not show third-party advertising, and does not include advertising or cross-app tracking tools.

AI Sensei

Some App features, such as the AI Sensei routine coach, use an artificial-intelligence service provided by Anthropic. When you use them, our server sends only what the feature needs: the focus you picked, your belt level, the names of the training blocks in your library and, for members 13 and older, the goal you type. We do not send your name, email or account details. Members under 13 cannot type free text into AI Sensei; they choose from set options only. We keep a record of these requests and the answers so we can check that the feature is safe and working.

How we use information

To provide the Site and the App, save your progress and keep your account secure.
To show rankings and dojo leaderboards. Other members can see your display name, avatar, time trained and streak there.
To review posted videos and keep the community safe.
To send account emails, such as password resets and parent approval requests.
To answer your messages, process event registrations and, if you sign up, send our newsletter.
To improve our programs and fix problems.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site and the App (for example, our web hosting company, our email service, PayPal and Stripe for payments, Akismet for spam filtering, and Anthropic for AI Sensei), only as needed for them to do that work. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of our members, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.

Children’s privacy

The App is designed for martial-arts students of all ages, including children. For members under 13, we ask for a parent or guardian’s email address and send the parent or guardian a request to approve the account. We collect only the information needed for the child to use the App. Children under 13 cannot post videos and cannot type free text into AI Sensei.

A parent or guardian can review the information we hold about their child, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing bill@kumiteclassic.com. If we learn that we collected information from a child under 13 without a parent’s approval, we will delete it.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the App (Profile, then Delete Account), or by emailing us. When you delete your account, we delete your account and the information stored with it from our servers, normally within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something longer.

Your choices and rights

You can see and change most of your information in the App. You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; contact us and we will help.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and tell App users in the App when a change is significant.
